Engineering portfolio: audience, content, and design

Audience and purpose

I most want to work for a robotics engineering company, especially teams developing robotic systems for [target users]. These employers value mechanical design, system integration, experimental validation, and clear teamwork. My portfolio is organized to help a hiring manager connect those needs to evidence in my work.

Content and employer fit

I selected [four project names] because they demonstrate [specific relationship between the projects and the target role]. Each overview identifies the project, my role, and relevant skills. The individual case-study pages provide the technical detail needed to assess those claims. The introduction explains my interests; the one-page résumé gives employers a concise record of my education and experience.

Project structure and individual contribution

The case studies use Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion. They establish the problem before explaining the approach, then present evidence and interpret its significance. A separate “My contribution” section distinguishes my work from the team's work. The discussion connects technical results to stakeholder needs, while identifying limitations and separating measured outcomes from potential social benefits.

Layout, navigation, and visual choices

I used white and soft-gray surfaces, dark text, and blue links to keep attention on the work. Large headings, generous spacing, and short paragraphs support scanning. Subtle entrance and hover animations establish hierarchy; reduced-motion preferences disable them. Body text starts at 16 pixels; the responsive layout stacks on narrow screens. The navigation opens dedicated pages for projects, my introduction, and supporting documents. Each project has its own case-study page, with links back to all projects and onward to the next project.

Media and final review

Each project reserves space for a relevant photograph, technical diagram, or results plot. I will use [specific media] to explain [the design or result], add descriptive alternative text and captions, and credit any external material. Before submission, I will replace all prompts, verify every claim, check links and print layouts, and confirm that each stated skill is supported by a concrete example.
